Spring Chickens, and More!

Here are a few photos of some recent happenings around the farm. The first is one Jasper and I took the morning the baby turkeys arrived and we just had to see one. The next three are David and Jason Patterson tending to this year's batch of Thanksgiving turkeys just moved onto pasture. They did an awesome job getting the coop tight, as turkey poults are really sensitive to drafts and moisture until they're eight weeks old, after which they're as tough as tanks. (I'll post some more recent photos of them soon.) The next three are of us stuck in the mud at the farm, and having a great time while waiting for back-up! The next three are of this spring's batch of chickens, which will be ready in the middle of June. (Let me know if you'd like some!) Finally, of course, is baby donkey Zion.

Donkey Zion

Honest John and Calamity Jane recently welcomed a new member to their equine family! Jasper and I named him "Baby Donkey Zion." He's doing quite well, though awkward would be an understatement.
